Dragon entered the market with poorly fitting kits. Some of their older repops show up as Shanghai Dragon and several of Dragon's kits became Zvezda molds. Fit on most of the kits from those lines is pretty poor.

Is it labelled as a "Premium Edition"? What is the kit number?

Dragon is renowned for their questionable instruction sheets. Build enough of their kits and you learn to test fit repeatedly, and try "opposite" side parts to confirm before gluing.

As far as the poor fit goes, I have not built their Ferdinand so I can not comment there. Did you buy this kit at a local store, an online shop, or secondhand from somewhere else. There are folks out there who sell secondhand, either in person or online who have shrink wrapped kits that are missing parts or substituted, and sold them off as new/mint condition.

Counterfeit dragon kits?

I recently bought dragons premium edition Ferdinand and to my horror the kit had several major problems namely extremely poor fit and vague instructions, something dragon is not known for. I also found out that this kit was supposed to come with a metal barrel and the dragon "card" my kit contained neither. is it possible that it was a counterfeit? I understand that premium edition kits are upgrades of older ones so that may explain the problems. the box had seals on the edges and was shrink warped. I should mention that it was at a lower price($46) and on sale which made the final price to $38.
