Same in Dallas.  They used to also carry one of the later Tamiya Shermans (my wife bought me one using their 40% coupon) but that's been a couple of years ago.

When the store by me dumped all the other Tamiya and Dragon kits, they went for pennies, like Tamiya's Leo for $14, Dragon T-34 for $12..... Makes me so mad I could spit that I didn't snap all of them up.

Apprentice rivet counter.

Same here in VA, might be more than a regional thing?

The two nearest to me (about 40-45 mi) have the same selection of armor. Yes, about 8 years ago they had a lot of nice, new Trumpeter, Tamiya, Dragon, Academy and Italeri (in Testors box) kits. Right now, they just carry the old Tamiya M41, Pz II F/G, and a few other old Tamiya accessories along with the Academy M1A1 and the Revell snap M1A1. There is also a small selection of screwdriver build armor like an M3 and Jeep.

  Good to know.

I'll have to look in to this at our local Big Lots since (as a rule) our local Hobby Lobby carries several tons of model cars, occasionally a few Tamiya planes and ancient ships.

In the last five years, nothing armor except the same old same'o outdated junk (about ten kits) from the 70's and early 80's which hardly (if ever) moves (the other HL store 35 miles away is in nearly the same condition).

http://th38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/CommentCrazyGirl/Smileys%20Emotions/Snarky%20Mad/th_HlwnShck.gifI sincerely believe that the regional

                     management needs a kick start.http://i1132.photobucket.com/albums/m575/maxmoo/Funny%20Pics/Decor%20Smileys/rauskick.gif

It's almost like they have an old tomb full of ancient kits they need to dust or dump. They used to carry a nice variety of Dragon, Tamiya, Italeri, AFV, etc. about eight years ago before going totally brain dead.

Still good for oil paints though.....

My local Big Lots had the Dragon Can Do Trojan War figures: Ajax, Trojan, Hector and Achilles for $1 each. They look like they may have been based on the Brad Pitt Troy movie. The bases fit together in a square.

German WW2 Troops in 1/35 scale at Big Lots

Hey all. Normally I don't find a lot of useful stuff for modeling at Big Lots. But in the last month at two separate stores in two geographically seperate areas (a few States away), I found some Can.do 1/35 scale German troops in both Summer (Approach to Stalingrad), and Winter (Eastern Front). These troops aren't too badly painted, and come with bases. They sell for the grand total of a dollar each! I think they are distributed by Dragon. Happy modeling!
