Some 1/16 T34 info
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, March 1, 2004 7:41 AM
Most of you know that Trumpeter is coming out with some 1/16 T-34 kits that have complete interiors. I just got off of the Stevens International site and found a little more info:

TRM903 will be a T-34/76 Model 1943 (D? or F? Haven't seen any photos yet)
TRM 905 will be a T-34/76 Model 1942 (C)

List is $169. Hobbyland is future releasing @ $119, so I figure others will do the same.

TRP902 will be the T-34/85 which has been linked on other threads.

So, that's what I could figure out... if I have something wrong, feel free to correct it, or add to this information!

Those are totally amazing prices for kits that big with full interiors. Mr. Tamiya should be paying close attention. Once Trumpeter starts releasing kits of other nationalities, they will simply blow Tamiya away.

IIRC, I spent around $250 for my Tiger II and it has a little put-put motor, and no interior.

Yeah, Trumpeter has been releasing some fairly nice kits lately, all at very fair prices. They're supposed to release the FAMO later this year. We'll see how that does, as it'll be in direct competition with one of the best Tamiya kits out there...

a 35th scale FAMO? Interesting, but to be frank I'd rather they did in 35th what they are doing in 16th -- release stuff Tamiya hasn't made.

We already have a FAMO.

How about a new T-62, or a SdKfz 8? An early Israeli Centurion? An AMX-13? I hope that their FAMO is at least the one with the crane, instead of a carbon copy of the Tamiya one.

This is all I could find:

Couldn't open a home page or the Trumpeter address given on this page.

Poniatowski, by any chance have you heard of any news on the R/C version of the kit?

Buda:

Haven't heard a thing about RC. I'm still trying to find out if the T-34/76 actually does have the full interior as shown for the /85. I've always assumed it would, but assumptions can be dangerous things! I'll let you know if I learn anything more.
