Eastern Express 1/35 BMD-2
Posted by J-Hulk on Monday, March 1, 2004 11:12 AM
I picked up the 1/35 Eastern Express BMD-2 today for about $8 US (I caught the modern Russian armor bug via Skif's BMP-3!). While I am familiar with the general quality of Eastern Express kits, I can't seem to find any info on this particular kit. (No. 35186

It looks good in the box, with single link trax and nice clean molding and detail.

Anybody out there have any experience with this little airborne afv?

I also have this kit and the other two kits (BTR-D and 2S9) put out by EE. Concord put out a book about the Russian/Soviet airborne forces and it has a lot of good pictures of this vehicle. Another good book is "Russian Tanks and Armored Vehicles,
1946-Present", written by Steve Zaloga. I don't remember the sites, but I have seen pictures of BMD's in Iraq. HTH

Where did you find it for only US$ 8?. It's so cheap!, I usually have to pay 2.5 - 3 times that price for Eastern Express's or SKIF's armor.

My http://www.falconbbs.com/model18d.htm Model Maniac Page 18 - Part D has SKIF's BMD-1P and Eastern Express PT-76 for show. Both are airborne AFVs.

Thanks for the info, guys!

Model Maniac, I picked it up at a local shop here in Osaka that carries "used" kits. Lots of cheap, great stuff!

Nice BMD-1P and PT-76 on your site, by the way.
