I'm slowly-starting assembling the Trumpeter NKL-26 Aerosan. The kit has a lot of nice detail, but then just leaves other stuff off. While I'm sure it'll probably go mostly unnoticed, I'd like to add some details in the interior.
The kit instructions indicate to paint the interior khaki, so I faithfully did that. While looking around to see if I could find any interior pictures which would tell me how all the linkage is connected, I discovered that the thing was built mostly out of plywood. So, I'll be trying to add some wood grain to that interior (and probably the exterior, too, so I can 'wear off' some of the white top coat). I saw where one builder used the hair spray technique to wear away the white, displaying the wooden paneling underneath, so I might try that. Do you think these things were sprayed white, or brush painted? Being Soviet, I'd think having visible brush strokes in the white wouldn't be out of the ordinary, especially on these things.
Inside, there appear to be some linkage, and/or brackets that connect the steering to the ski mechanisms. I'd like to add the proper detail, whether it's wire for pulleys, or rod for links, but am not finding much out there.
Does anyone know if there's any interior shots of these little things anywhere? Thanks.
