Just a quick reminder: for sale signs are great sources for thin sheet styrene.  Good solution, though.

A lot of times, simpler is better.

I don't have Elmer's glue or a styrene sheet at the moment.  So I attached a long piece of pipe wrap tape around the turret ring.  It did the job!

Putty isn't the way to go.  Add some small pieces of sheet styrene around the circumference of the turret's ring (make sure they are somewhat equally spaced around the turret) and sand them down if they are too big.

Which kit? The old Panther A with the smooth inner surface of the tracks? If so, it's probably the old molds that cause this. Instead of putty, try cutting a piece of ordinary paper to the shape of the turret ring on the hull and then use Elmer's glue to attach it. Trial and error you should be able to find paper of the right thickness to give the turret some resistance.

My son's building a Tamiya 1/35 Panther. I don't know if he did something wrong, but the fit between the turret and the hull is very loose. I've never had this kind of issue, so I'm not sure how to best fix the problem. I'm thinking of adding some putty to the turret ring. What do you think?
