Hello.
I want to introduce you M4A3 Sherman 105mm Howitzer from Tamiya. Scale 1/35. There are steps of building this project and some additional information. I’m interested in your opinion about it.
I used conversion details from Eduard’s photo etched kit and metal barrel from Aber. Some handles of tools I made from plastic. Front Machinegun made from needle. Headlight from ELF (it is for T-34 so I need to make some reconstruction of it)
…than it’s colored by Tamiya’s olive drab. For fixed decals was used tamiya’s mark fit. than I used brown filter, oil colors and dark wash for old surface effect (all from MIG)
I want to show tank in the end of summer ’44. so it should be dirty and dusty and a little beat rusty in some places. For this effect I used MIG’s pigments (European dust and some others for this region and acrylic resin. The result is on picture
… than I made several types of boxes for k-ration (made it like i see on photos) and several types of tools boxes. Tools boxes I made from metal. Tools are from plastic and wire. For this I used photos again (quarter on photos is for scale)
… finally here’s a Sherman after all
life magazine, issue june 44’
Army talks and some newspapers
bucket and oil can I made from metal
bags with sand I made from paper
so I didn’t make a crew but it’s in future plan.. thanks Pavel Bogdanov for help me with photo of this model.
