Way over my head...Meng TS-10, BMPT Terminator 1/35

Utoshita, Sounds like a great project. The tracks constitute about half of all the parts. So don't let that intimidate you. The main thing you're up against there is the seemingly endless repetition. Once you get the hang of the assembly process, you'll simply repeat that ad nauseam. I have not built that kit but most people who have seem to have really liked it. Take your time and enjoy. We have all been there I think, the first thing I do when up against what seems to be a monster is build a second kit at the same time. This way when you get frustrated with the build you can step back until you are ready to take another go at it! As for tracks if they are plastic I use a slow drying glue testors liquid is a good one, and I always use a ruler! Building the tracks link by link keeping them touching the edge of the ruler will keep them straight while you work. Crazy but I spent 3 years working on one model 'largely scratch built' and could only spend 30min to one hour after work.guess the point is dont let the job overwhelm you, you control the job! Good luck. You can do it!

I have done this kit. It is a fantastic build, but you need to replace the kit barrels with RB ones. Not only does it make it look better, but the barrels are the correct length!

The tracks are designed to work and once you get a system going then they can be done in an evening, then it's just painting, Use a clear plastic bag so that you don't loose any bits, but if you get it right you should have a complete sprue of tracks (sprue H) for the spares box.

There is a jig to help you build and it is a godsend!

The suspension will work. Take your time, don't panic.

Look to Mig Ammo for the correct paint colours.

I used Quickwheels' set for painting the road wheels. you can also do Meng's other two T-90 kits with the same set.

My camera was in for repair when I built this, so there's no photos of the build, I will Photograph it and put it on this thread Tomorrow.

This is a very well done and enjoyable bit of mean looking Russian kit from Meng. It looks good when finished and in the cabinet.

Meng BPMT -90 "Terminator" Rules for building.

1. Don't Panic!

2. Spend lots of time with the manual. Learn it and understand what you are going to do.

3. Please replace the gun barrels!

4 Paint as you go along. It's easier!

5. Don't Panic. Remember the manual!

6.Take care around the tracks. This is where you have to pay attention. Use the Jig - don't be foolish.

7. Broke a peg on a track link? Plenty of spares. Work carefully and take your time.

8. Walk away when you have to. Take a break. It's useful.

9. No shortcuts in this kit. By the book!

10. Dry fit everything at least twice.

11. The mine ploughs are a SOB to build. It is very easy to get things mixed up. I did and got them wrong. BUILD THESE WITH EXTREME CAUTION. Never do them when tired!

There! That should help. It's a great kit of an unusual subject which has set me on a path of doing lots of Russian vehicles. despite the part count you will find that it is all a really good fit and goes together very well. It's one to enjoy, but needs care and attention at certain points of the build.
