Thanks I am. My father was in the Michigan Army National Guard from 1950- 1954 and was with M-40 GMC's most of the time judging from mom's weekend photos of him. He doesn't remember anything anymore.

 Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

AFV Club's M42 Dusters are light-years better than the Tamiya kit.  Go with one of them and you will not be disappointed.

Yes I feared so, the idea is to add a Jordanian SPG to the 1967 collection instead of another M47.

But, the Kingdom also fielded the M42. There are two kits and variants I see online, Tamiya and AFV Club (early and late).

Unfortunately, I don't know of any.  The closest is the old Renwall M53 recently reissued by Revell and the Elite modelsM55/53 all-resin version.  Redleg12 is building the Elite Models one here:

On either of these you will have to change the barrel and any other parts that are specific to the 105mm version.
