Dragon #6383 Late Tiger I with molded Zimmerit?

It is an excellent kit,a nice build,has some PE but no metal barrel and it has DS tracks which are only okay.Google the kit number,lots of reviews and looks out their.

But I did enjoy mine.

I have a few of the Dragon Tiger's, not that one though, and they do look very nice. I certainly would not write off the Tamiya ones, but the Dragon are a cut above. I would get the kit before committing to a metal barrel though. I have bought some of those barrels for a few of my Dragon kits, but am now thinking that was a bit of a waist as the Dragon ones are rather nice one piece barrels with nice muzzles in a couple of pieces.

This kit beats the heck out of the Tamiya ones as far as detail. The molded on zimmerit is quite good and saves you $$ in the long run. As far the DS tracks, they are pretty detailed and I couldn't see spending the extra $30-40 for AM myself. Then again, I'm a conservative. LOL

Reaper i've built that kit and even though Dragon misfires on some instructions, the kit is a nice build.

This pre-zimmed kit has uniform zimm on both the turret and the hull. The real one had wider/coarser zim on the turret.

I agree with Bish abt metal barrels. I bought the one for the Cyberhobby SU-152 before I got the kit. Better, but I'd use the Dragon one too. I bought the one for the Heller AMX- no brainer there.

Sometimes Dragon instructions are not clear,sometimes parts are even mislabeled.Again Google someone's build log for pitfalls and suggestions.The fit is good however,and although detailed I didn't find it over engineered.If you are worried about accuracy it has been stated that the zimm isn't 100 percent correct and it is harder to depict damaged zim,but I'd rather deal with that then AM zim or putty.

Dragon kits use a lot of part and provide you many extras (which is a good thing) but there not always marked correctly and the instructions are sometime wrong or misleading. Having said that I love Dragon kits and this one will go together nicely but read through the instructions and familiarize yourself with the parts, I do this with every kit anyway. Dragons missteps are usually small and correctable if you come across one. Don't forget you can always come back and ask if theres a question, I think most of us keep our booklets.
