This is about my Facebook Photo Album "Display Case Re-Arrangement". Here's a story in short.
As I've run out of display space and my display cases have become dirty & dusty over nearly 10 years time, I've done many things to solve the problems:
- Bought a new 4-side glass, tall display case (43x37x163 cm) (Ikea, $59), placed it in my stash room and moved some kits from the showroom's shelves into it. I re-arranged and wall-papered this room.
- Moved all kits out out of the top three shelves of the wall-based display case (3.00 x2.40 x 0.45m),
cleaned the shelves and put things back more tightly so as to reclaim some space.
- Moved 5 armored train set out from the display case intended for warships and put them in another
wall-based display case (also 3.00 x2.40 x 0.45m, 11 shelves) which is all armor case.
- Had my little brother buy parts and install display shelves in the restroom of the showroom. Moved
1:48 armors from 1:48 warplane display case and placed them here.
- Made use of 50+ years old small teak/glass display case (probably my oldest) and moved 1:72 tanks
from the showroom to fill it up.
- Moved all kits out of 2 outdoor display cases (4 shelves each), cleaned the dio's & tanks & glasses,
then put things back unlike before, more tightly this time.
All these took many days of work and lot of sweat, but the outcome is satisfactory. As the pictures show,
now I have ample space for warships. But still no space for new armors (armors have taken the lowest
2 shelves of the display case intended for warships, warplanes took the top 3 shelves, leaving only 6
shelves for warships). Still there are lot of space for in-coming warships because of new arrangement.
Problem has just been partly solved because there is still no room for in-coming armors & dioramas. Now you have an idea of what you're going to view. This may be an inspiration for some. Enjoy!
