Just for you amigo, I am going to paint one of them drab. I like the idea, the whole tank is a collection of other peoples parts. Is the aerial drab?
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
Oh the possibilities...
Yes I thought about doing that. Actually a French licensed version apparently and OEM on the tank in question.
Ah ok. But a US radio system? It could be repainted in indigenous colors or it could still be in the original manufacturers OD.
Egyptian/ French origin. Sand and black springs, black whip.
On a US Vehicle it should be the one size fits all color: Olive Drab.
Currently in the paint shop- flat black.
Hmm, I got 3.1". Plus the height of the antenna mast base another 10". There you have it.
I think it works out to 3.75in - give or take.
Thanks, Carlos. Yes, I think that's it. I also found this on missing lynx:

That's a WWII US set right? I looked those up recently, and they used a 9 foot whip antenna that breaks down into 3 foot sections. Probably very similar to the HF whip antennas that I used on the GRC-193 system.
My current project has two antennas for SCR 608 radio sets. The antenna apparently is a series of 1 meter sections. What is the overall length of the whip?
