Thanks all. Arty i built it to get me out of a slump. I do have actual armor kits but I will build those at a latter date.

Ok as you said it's not the latest Dragon uber-kit...

You can say that again.  The finish looks great, the kit itself is horrible in my opinion.  The details, what little there are of them, are either way too thick and blobby, or just plain wrong.  It has an M1A2 Commander's Weapons Station, but no CITV, which makes it a very confused M1A1.  The track is the really old, T-156 chevron block which hasn't been used since the early '90s.  Are the blobs on the front supposed to be lights?  What is all the junk in the non-existant turret basket, matresses?  What are the boxes supposed to be on the turret sides?  Etc., etc., etc...

No offense, but I would not have wasted my time on this lump of plastic.  It is great for kids who are wanting to get into the hobby, but most of us are way beyond this type of modeling.  Based on your finishing skills, you are way better than this, so why waste your time on it?

Looks very nice; especially as it is a Snap Tite !Big Smile

I don't usually build armour in 1/35, but I do like the US Abrams and may check Hobby Lobby for the kit next time I am in a store.Hmm

Ok as you said it's not the latest Dragon uber-kit but for a Snap-Tite she looks pretty dang fine! Of course a paint job that good makes any kit look good- kudos sir!

Thanks Brindos, I enjoyed this short build very much and it was just what I needed to break my modeling slump.

Well done! I've seen the kit but haven't picked it up yet. I've seen this done before and they can look pretty cool. You've done that kit a service indeed.  :)

Thanks Bish,

Its the Revell 1/35 snap tite kit. It comes molded in a skin tone color. I primed it in black then painted it in MM sand with the weathering done with pastel chalk and artist oils.

Nice looking build.

What's the kit brand and scale. Was this pre painted or did you do that. I have not seen any snap tite armour kits before.

Clean up your post title to be:

Snap Tite ...

That way future google searches, and forum searches here, will find this nice model.

Well with the desire to build a kit without any stress, I figure it cant get any easier than this.  I had this kit hanging out in the stash for a while and decided to build it. All I added were the windows and the antennas. I dont remember snap tite kits being this nice, granted its no Tamiya or Dragon by any means. but for a kit that was made for beginners and children, it does not look too bad. Having finished this in 2 days, it gave me the motivation I really needed to finish up another build that has stalled due to lack of motivation. Big Smile
