I'm hanging in there KnightTemplar, I. Won't give up.

Spade Ace, don't know them I'll have to check them out.

I hear ya T26E4 about the no sag on the Sherman tanks, I usually always use the kit tracks on Sherman builds but the kit tracks were to short and i took a chance

Next time, don't use white metal whatsoever for Sherman based vehicles.  The benefit of Fruils and Space Ace etc is their ability to impart the drape of weighty links.  Shermans had "live tracks" that would show no sag in a running vehicle.  Otherwise, there was a huge risk of throwing a track.

Now, you're faced with keeping the upper run very straight -- and you need to put a lot of pressure on your idler and drive sprocket.  Use Panda Plastics (ex-RHPS) plastic tracks instead if you must.   Hope this helps

Did you get a bad set? Maybe, maybe not...having to drill out the tracks is pretty much standard with white metal tracks. The casting procedure is a little different with metal. It's pretty tough to cut a mold that will give you a completely hollow pin guide and last for a full production run. In the past, I've only had to deal with fairly light parting lines because tracks with heavy flash usually don't make it past the quality control stage and are remelted for another try. Hang in there, Jersey66 - the work is worth it.

I picked up a set Friulmodel tracks for my M36 Jackson cause the kit tracks were a little short and wouldn't fit right, its been a while since i used a set of Friuls and I dont remember them needing so much clean up. Holes in the track pads didn't go all the way through and there was no hole at all going through the end connectors and just about every link has flash, i know modeling is about removing seam line's, filling and sanding and test fitting but man only 14 links in a hour and half..ugh, maybe i just got a bad set.
