The OP asked about WW2 US heavy artillery. The Italeri M110A2 and kits of the M109 series are sweet -- but not in the ken of the original question. I'd love to see an M53 or M55 SPH in plastic! Alas, also post WW2.
OP: Azimut (and maybe Commanders) did a resin version of the 155mm GPF, in use by US forces at the outbreak of the war.

Italieri makes an 8" M110A2 kit, but I haven't built it.There is a build report on finescale:

AFV Club makes a pair of very nice towed 155mm Long Tom and 8" Howitzers in 1/35. They recently issued a nice 155mm Howitzer as well. Academy makes a nice M12 155mm Gun Motor Carriage in 1/35. And AFV also does the M40 late WWII/Korean War 155mm GMC. Hobby Boss does the M4 High Speed Tractor Prime Mover in 1/35 to pair up with the guns.
id like to know if there are any 155mm guns or 8" howitzers out there?..in 1/35th..i can find all kinds of russian and german guns and howitzers, but not much of US army equipment.
