U.S. armor piercing projectiles are usually black. Some may have an aluminium fuse if they are explosive. In WWII the casings were generally brass. Most post WWII casings are steel. U.S. high explosive projectiles are olive drab with yellow lettering.

Armor shells

I am building an M10. I plan to have a few rounds ready in the ready round part of the turret as well as one being loaded. What color should those be. I thought the should be a brass color, but looking through a book last night, they appeared to be gold. And also, what about the very end, I know it depends on the shell, so lets say its a armor piercing. Would that be black? Thanks for the help.
