A quick shot of future over the decals ensures its surface matches the surrounding painted plastic -- then hit the whole thing with flat coat -- this is important if your matte coat isn't the top quality.

I still top off my decals with Future even though I've been recently using a very superior product: Vallejo Air Flat.  Commonly available -- even at Hobby Lobby.  Even and very matte.

thanks PVT Mutt, I've done this in the past but wondered if I was adding an unnecessary step with the second coat of Future and not going straight to the flat coat.

I've used Future as the gloss coat base for decals, now to seal them; what have you had the best results with?  Another coat of future or a coat of acrylic flat?
