Taska firefly. The challenge of getting "depth" and realism out of an OD green finish at this scale is always a challenge. This kit was a breakthrough for me as I experimented heavily with different techniques until I "got it"......built this several years ago but thought I would share some pics from the old build log for those of you who are interested.
First - filled seams and applied weld beads as required:
Applied Tamiya acrylic dark gray over entire model: Applied acrylic OD with the airbrush.pre-shading along linear surfaces to add depth: Sprayed the track with an acrylic mixture of dk gray, gunmetal and, to get the oxidized look of all metal track, added some clear flat to the mixture: In the finishing stage...went over the vehicle as if the sun were shining on it, i.e.,working in OD pigment to darken the sides of the hull and turret, and adding yellow to the pigment mix to lighten the top of the turret etc.. Supplemental weathering after decal application, scratch built cammo net, figures, etc to finished product:

Tigers no Lions, no Bears...OH MY
Oh my, that is superb! That is a very, very nice finish. You really put some serious thought into that and it clearly shows. That is an award winning finish right there!
This is what I love to see. :D

Building the perfect model---just not quite yet
Crockett, very well thought out and your techniques are perfect. This is a beautiful job your attention to detail really shows. I love how you built up the base color to what I think is a perfect OD.
Very nice, Terry
Awesome work Steve. You are so missed in the forums. It's great to see you back . :)

As always, good to hear from you Eric. These boards don't seem to have the same energy as they did a decade ago when we were trying to learn and grow in the hobby. Just trying to resurrect some energy by sharing with newer guys some of the stuff we've learned over the years.
I hope you and yours are happy and healthy my friend.
