Nice work indeed! Yes The Tamiya Chi Ha's are great kits. Easy to build and you can camo them up to some really appealing schemes.

Good effort Chris. One thing I'm not fond of is the early Tamiya tracks. Not very detailed and the such. No fault of your own. I'd havecavtough time shelling out the money for AM tracks that cost more then the kit. Lol

Nice work. Great camo job and I especially like the weathering on the bolts.

Really nice job there! And nice seeing something a little different.

Vision Models does make a nice set of aftermarket tracks for this kit or anything based on a Type 97 chassis (about 75% of Japanese tank models out there). I picked mine up for about seventeen bucks US. They're plastic, one part per link, and snap together. They advertise them as being 'workable' but I find you can snap them together the way you want them and then hit them with a little liquid cement and be done.

A few years ago, I built the Chi-Ha (older version) that was Tamiya's original release in 1974/5.            The kit has really held up well, detail-wise.  Even the tracks aren't badly done and are leaps and bounds above other offerings from that time.  I built it without any aftermarket stuff, but did replace the mufflers and screen covers with brass sheet and brass screen.  I think that the mufflers are the only thing that really needs to be updated. A great out-of-box build and you did it well!
