Thats correct, they might appear to be the same to a novice like me,but #131 the Bovington Tiger has some characteristics that make it unique from the the other Tunisian tigers.6820 was probably released to capitalize on the movie Fury, while 6608 were probably put out to answer the new Rye Field Tiger.

Thanks Tojo for clairifing that for me. I thought they were the same kit.

Byrden

You're mixing up 2 kits.

The thread on ML is comparing 6608 to the old CH Tiger. They are indeed representative of the same tanks.

Tiger "131", represented by kit 6820, is a very different beast.

So, 6608 and 6820 are not similar kits with different decals?

I'd pull the trigger on this one, but still have the original cyber-hobby in the stash.

This latest boxing has about 50% new/or sprues from other Tiger kits.  Some detail on larger pieces has also been reworked.

A more insiteful comparison can be found here:

Truth be said,I still love Dragon kits, but they are slipping somewhat, prices are up,(but what kit isn't?) and for the most part the newer kits now longer provide metal barrels or Magic Tracks,a recent release didn't even provide PE screens and the Black Plague Cold War kits have been derided as inaccurate, not my genre so not sure.So read the contents before you buy,but yes the still excel in German armor for sure.

Grinny, Dragon is considered amongst the best in armor kits. They offer a ton of detail including many AM parts that would cost extra in other manufacturers kits. They have a very wide selection, especially in German armor. Their instructions can be tedious and misleading, but build up into state-of-the-art kits.

I'm totally "kitted up" myself too.

This is probably a silly question but is Dragon considered top of the line for model kits? I just finished a Testor skit and I have several Tamiya, Acadeny, and Revell kits but I've never bought a Dragon. Just wondering.

I saw it this morning, debating to pull the trigger. Thanks for posting Tojo!

Edit: Decided not to pull the trigger, the kit doesn't have a metal barrel.

Great deal, but I'm good on kits for the foreseeable future.

Thanks for pointing it out. I went to the site and liked what I saw, but when I started to check out, it factored in an $8 shipping fee. That made it too close to $50. If someone just really wants a Tiger kit, it's probably a pretty good deal, but the shipping charge knocked it out of "too good to pass up" territory for me. I'll be watching for another deal on it, though.

Appreciate the heads up. I've had my fill of Tigers over the last ten years or so. Looking at the price, it does give me some relief that I was right in my decision to sell my Cyberhobby Tunisian Tiger kit a few years ago for $400 USD........lol

Basically a rebox of that kit for a sane price.....
