If I wasn't doing the 1/16 Tiger I might be interested. Just the same I'd enjoy watching the build group progress on an M4! Smile [:)]

That's definitely a good price! Cheaper than anything I've seen here in Japan.
I'd love to do a JGSDF Sherman with the 76mm turret...

Shermanfreak,
Besides the scale, I think this one is a little too limited for your talents. The detail is lacking, but the HVSS and turret seem to hold the possibilities even more. I can't pour anymore cash into this after the radio, battery et al, so most will be scratch built. The cuppola ports, hull hatches and vision blocks are all molded shut so there's a lot to do besides the usual detailing (I don't want to add too much damage 'cause I know they can't sustain too muchWink [;)]).
All the reference material I find deals with numbers and variants but little with design and function. Any suggestions?
I may just make my own resin Oddball and Morriority and slap a brass tube on the 105. Or maybe I'll detail it as is and name it "Tiger Target'Big Smile [:D]
Anyway I'm looking forward to your help and ribbing.

Just received the R/C kit for a song, a little over $400 delivered ($11 actually). Discussed this with the manager and he will extend the promotion to anyone is interested. In the 48 that is.
A quick look at the kit and it lives up to everything you would expect from Tamiya, except the body. The hull and turret molds are from 1974 and show it. A lot has been added in 2001. The mission here, if you accept it Mr. Phelps, would be to come up with some details or variants.
The Tamiya British website has all the info to wire the kit with a 4 channel Radio so you can turn the turret, fire main and MG, and switch on lights while on the fly. The only difference between this and the Tiger in terms of function is the gun recoil. The M4 hull moves back but the 105mm cannon doesn't (the Tiger does both). Otherwise sound and action look pretty promising.
I am not planning on starting for a few weeks.
