Hobby Search Japan still have most of Tamiya's 1:25 armors for sale. These are Jagdpanther, SU-100, Tiger I, Centurion and T-34/85. Here's a link to the Tiger I (for other tanks, check "Other AFV Item" on their site):

Thanks again to all that have responded. I guess I was wrong and it was 1/16th that I saw. Pretty sure it was a tamiya kit. While I like the Porsche Turret (built the 1/35 Tamiya) Iwas looking for the production turrent Tiger II in a large scale. Don't care about it being radio controlled, that just adds to the cost. Will continue with a look at the links suggested. Thanks again to all.

Hello Zar!

The place You `re looking for to find all answers to your questions is here.

www.1-25saf.com,

Then go arround and check this list.

As all colleagues wrote, Bandai had had 3 models in 1-24 scale, all with interior, separated track links etc.- King tiger/Porsche turret, Jagdpanther and Panther G late version with kinn gun mantlet.

All are available on Ebay somethimes, but  the price is high.

GMorrison

There was also a SU-100 and a Chieftain.

Shows how long it's been since I've thought about these kits. I'd forgotten the SU-100 and don't think I even knew abouth the Chieftain

From memory, Tamiya's 1/25 range consisted of:

Tiger I (interior & no interior versions)

Centurion

Panther A

Jagdpanther

T-34/85

As far as I'm aware, that covers Tamiya's 1/25 offerings

Yup, that's it.

I have the Tiger I sans interior sitting in the stash as we speak.

Tamiya produced a King Tiger in 1/16 scale a while back. http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/56018kingtiger/

The only Tiger II that was made in a 1/24 scale was by Bandai with a Porsche turret. It had a complete interior including the Maybach V12 engine. I built it in 1977 when it first came out. I remember selling it around 1990 for $320 as a built model with zimmerit fashioned from Squadron green putty. I wish I still had it.

I still have the Jagdpanther that also has a complete interior but unfortunately VERY incorrect. Bandai decided to cut corners by putting their Tiger II interior in the Jagdpanther. I have been slowly making the corrections to represent the correct interior.

Here 'ya go.

I built it back in '72.... kit #TAM 30611.

The interior detail really isn't up to snuff, but it'll pass if you aren't really into perfection.

I know what you mean. Those kits dates from the late 60's early 70's and they did have a 35th Tiger II out at that time. But i guess they figured a 25th kit was not justfied. Are you only looking for German kits as they did a couple of British and Soviet AFV's in that scale as well.

Hmmm, mybe I was wrong. I guess the large one I saw might have been 1/16th. That said makes no sense to me that they would offer those others in 1/25th and not the Tiger II.

I am not sure tamiya did do one in this scale. Bandai did one in 24th and Tamiya did a 1/16th Tiger II, but i can't find any mention of a Tamiya 25th kit.

Desperately Seeking The Large Scale King Tiger I know Existed
Posted by Zar on Saturday, December 26, 2015 3:25 PM

Fellow enthusists, am I correct that Tamiya made a 1/25th scale Tiger II? Im seeking one to finish off a series of tanks my late Dad built. He built a Tiger I, Jagdpanther, and Panther all in 1/25. I want to buid a Tiger II to display along his builds that I recently took home. I'm positive I saw one some time back in a Hobby Shop in Southern California. Not one Online Hobby shop carries it and cant even find it on E-bay.  Can anyone advise? I'm obsessed!
