You're welcome! Beer

There has been discussion that this is one of those late war situations where existing stocks of older tracks and sprockets would be used-up first, so it is always best to base your model on photographic evidence to confirm what features are present. Many photos show final production Tiger IIs went into combat with their transport tracks on, but these are the "official" combat tracks for this time period. Some March production vehicles still had the earlier 9 tooth sprockets and Gg 26/800/300 tracks. A photo taken at the Henschel factory after war's end show a partially completed vehicle with the older style tracks.

Thank you for the reply!!  After going thru a lot of pictures AND referring back to my pictures from the Tank Meuseum in Bovington I figured that the ATL 37 might work, based on "looks".

Thank you for confirming my thinking and thank you for the help and information, I appreciate it!!!

For final production Tiger II's made in March 1945 and later, Kgs 73/800/152 tracks with 18 tooth sprockets (Friul ATL-37) would be the correct combat tracks.

King Tiger Tracks, Transport & Combat

Hello everyone!!

Im currently building the Academy 1/35 King Tiger "Last Production" and I would like to try out the Friul metal tracks on my model.

My confusion is which if the four (4), that I have found, Friul type tracks would I need for the "combat" version?

I understand that the King Tiger was "shipped" out with transport type tracks installed and that the tank crew would replace these transport type with the larger combat tracks if possible while in the field.

The Academy kit comes with what I understand to be the transport tracks.  My guess is that I would use one of the "hunting Tiger" tracks from Fruil but I cannot find any confirmation of that.  I have found three (3) "hunting tiger" track types from Friul.

Thank you in advance for the help!!!!
