New Hobby Boss armour

Yup, the assembly instructions for the steering gear has to be seen to be believed. I have the 38(t) Ausf.G, which, sadly, doesn't have any interior, but on the other hand, I also have the Marder III, which does. I think one in a lifetime would be enough of a challenge.

Your're right Phil, I have noticed my 38t that the lower tub has to be built up and the interior looks like it has every single piece of everything that was in the tank on sprue! Funny thing, I recently purchased the brand new Tamiya M4A3E8 (not the Asuka rebox) and believe it or not the lower hull of it comes flat and has to be built up which I thought was a little strange for Tamiya.

I have several in the stash. Plenty of detail, but they look to be a bit of a challenge to the novice builder. Many of their kits require the lower hull tub to be built up from separate panels, so careful alignment is a must. Get it wrong, or let it slip a little whilst the glue is drying and your kit may look a little wonky.  

And there you have it. Can't seem to find them at any us stores yet. Will keep an eye out for them though. Will be interesting to see their pricing over here.

A bit more searching and some answer found. Trumpeter announce last jan that they had bought the Tristar moulds.

I guess the extra power this bigger brand has, they can offer these kits for less. Shame to see Tristar go, but nice to see the kits coming back, and a nice saving for the wallet as well.

We have already finished the upgrading and fixing on some molds of Tristar model kits and you will see them hit the market in the following months. Sharper detail and better fitting. Keep following us to get updated!" Makes me wonder how much better Hobbyboss could make the fit?

 

Well, at least that confirms it. I have read some god things about Tristar. I have not built any yet but have bought a couple, often choosing them over Dragon. HB seems to have a good reputation as well, if they are going to make them better, this can only be good. And on hannants at least they are cheaper than the Tristar kits they do have.

I have not heard anything about Tristar going out of bussness though.

I've always been curious on how the Tristar kits build up. They seem to get pretty good reviews from what I can tell. I have the kit above in the stash along with the full interior. Hopefully, one day, I will get around to finding out for myself! Good to see these kits being reboxed. I was glad too that Academy bought the molds to a lot of the AM stuff and started popping it as well.

Glad its not just me. The Brummbar's and Pz IV have the same box art as well

I believe so Bish. That Pz38t box art seems to be the same as Tristar 35020.
