Well, after having fought off the flu (twice!) and dealing with a ton of other issues, I finally have time to post another tour! Mind you, most of these have been done for at least two weeks, so I apologize for the delay. I still want to post the Works in Progress pics to show you how I finished them.
Sorry about souvenirs, my supplier 'tanked' so there aren't any again!
Now, without further ado:
Here is the final pics of my 1/72 scale Russian T 80U in Reactive Armor by Revell Monogram. This pic shows it fully camoflaged with a coat of Future on it in preparation for the decals:
Unfortunately, I got so caught up in building my Israeli T 55 that I forgot to take pics along the way!
Here is the 1/72 scale PST kit camoflaged and clearcoated with Future in preparation for the decals:
In the meantime, I tried to get some work done on this 'closet queen'.
(kinda like 'hanger queen' for the wingy thingy guys!) It is Airfix's 1/72 scale Scammell Tank Transporter. Every time I think I'm able to finish painting it, something else falls off!
In this pic, you can see it sitting next to the rear wheel assembly that fell off while painting:
I've been working on and off on that Beast for more than a year! I just get so fed up with it that it sits on the shelf again until my level of frustration and disgust with it drops lower than my determination to finish it. I'll keep you posted on it.
Now on to the next new kits I started: I have two 1/72 scale Hasegawa German Sdkfz 251/9's that I got, because I bought the second one when I forgot that I had the first one already. So, I'm building them side-by-side, and will mark one as German, the other will be a captured Russian vehicle in the same three-tone camo pattern. Here are the first assemblies. I put together all the bogies first:
Next, I painted the bogy assemblies, and fastened them to the lower hulls, and added the front axles as well. Then I assembled the interiors, and mounted them in the lower hulls and painted the interiors according to the instruction sheet. Look closely, you may be able to see the instrument panel on the one, both of the panels were hand painted:
This next shot is of one of them with the top hull in place. One was further along than the other at this point, so I only shot the one this time. the other is shown in the following picture.
This next pic shows the one with the gun assembly already in place:
And finally, here the two are in their basecoat ready for me to put the final pieces on, paint the gun on the one, and then camoflage them:
Well, that completes the tour for now. I apologize if it seems I'm a little behind, but the Israeli and Russian tanks are done, and the two German Halftracks are still in progress because I'm also building two wingy-thingies, a helicopter, and two Russian battlecruisers along with these two halftracks. The halftracks, helicopter and one plane will be done in another few days!
Well, now that the tour is over, let's move on to the viewing stand for the Grand Armor Parade!
