Ed, I didn't notice any typos!! I'm tired this morning, I guess! lol

And I believe if you change your original post, the quote in my post would change too, but I may be wrong.

QUOTE: my exacto knife has rolled off the bench and lodged itself in my foot or leg FOUR times.

OUCH!!!!!!

QUOTE: you have to look for those rubber triangle things they make for penss & hooby knives so they can't roll!

Matt, that's what I do, too. It also has the advantage of color coding my knives. I have a blue one on my main knife (usually has the freshest blade), and red on my secondary knife, which is the one I use for scraping seams and the like. They make them easier to find in the clutter of my desk, too.

But no matter what, you need to do something to save your legs/feet!

Good luck, and stay safe!

LOL, This is a riot!

The only thing I feel has been forgotten is:

Being on your hands and knees under your workbench with a flashlight and magnifying glass in hand desperately trying to reclaim a piece from the Carpet Troll.

That should equate to inviting your Mother-in-Law over for "an extended visit".

You guys are a scream. I have another plan. Be like me and be too s@#*scared to buy PE in the first place! Saves time and money.

Bill and Ed, I hear you guys. I have another problem, where in the two months since I took up modelling again, my exacto knife has rolled off the bench and lodged itself in my foot or leg FOUR times.

maybe i need one w/ a wrist strap!

Or a beeper!
(You know, if someone could make a microscopic beeper, they'd have all Bill Gates' money within a year!) LOL

Ausf,
now you are ready for the next step:
instead of ordering the PE, give 1/2 of the money to your girlfriend
(or set it on fire)
have her slap your face & kick your shin,
then you can proceed w/ poking yourself in the eye and gluing your hand to your face.

now when it is all over, you have saved money as well!
it's like getting your PE at a 50% off sale w/ free shipping!

Bill,
i keep 'losing' the metal rod i use to stir paint.
and i can do it while never getting up from the stool !

ausf, you should have had the driver scatter miscellaneous pieces of the pe around your workroom. That would have really saved some time. Oh, and maybe he could have hidden some of your tools around, too. Maybe you all are different than I am, but my tools keep disappearing! I can be using a pair of tweezers, set it down, and then have to spend 5 minutes trying to find it again! I'd say it's part of getting old, but I've always been like that!! lol

Today I had the UPS driver throw the package on the floor and poke me in the eye while I glued my hand to my face. Took about 50 seconds...saved me hours....same result.
