Thanks. I'm getting the bug to do another "what-if", and have several in mind but something with Sherman parts sounds kind of fun right now. I also have a boat-load of Sherman and Pershing parts laying around just looking for a home.

Lol, I've been thinking about it. Going to ask around at our next club meeting if anyone has the hull and turret of a scrapped M36 and suspension of an M4A3E8. I hate to take good kits and sacrifice them. Boo Hoo

Where do you think all those spare parts come from? lol

I have a Pershing chassis, and a left over Tamiya Isreali M51 turret, I've been thinking of another what if of an Isreali Pershing with the 105 mm armed Sherman turret and some other Isreali refinements. That sitting next to an Isreali M60 would be a sight......

Funny, talking about this sort of stuff I'd thought about kitbashing a M36 TD with HVSS 'Easy-eight' suspension. Maybe even mount a 105mm gun on the thing, though it might be little much.

There in lies the fun of it, who is gonna say its wrong? I like to give the real die hard rivet counters apoplexy..........

Good point! Go for it, Gamera

I'm only an apprentice rivet counter, but I've had the itch to do an "M10E8" with a Pershing turret and applique armor for a while now.....    and I have all the parts in the stash. Hmmmm......Hmm

Sounds pretty cool!

Getting another "what if" Sherman together
Posted by USMC6094 on Sunday, January 31, 2016 8:55 AM

After the completion of my A3E8 with the Super Pershing turret, I decided to go one step further and take the old Tamiya M4A3E2 Jumbo and give her the Super Sherman treatment, only keeping it a tad more believable than the first iteration......

to refresh memories, heres the first what if.......

So far I have the Tamiya Jumbo, a set of DML running gear for the E8 HVVS conversion, and I'm looking for two things I remember from a while back, one is a resin turret that corrected the Tamiya kits turret, andI have no idea if the resin set is still made or who made it, the second is a correction (also resin) for the final drive housing to be correct for the E2.

Any help on these two parts would be greatly appreciated.
