Honest John Missle Kenworth ?
Posted by BigJim on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 6:49 PM

I bought the Revell Honest John Missle with Kenworth truck. For whatever reason, there are no clear parts for windows or a windshield for the truck. Have any of you found this to be true and what did you use for the windshield?

Nope, it never came w/any clear parts.  You will have to source and add them yourself.  It shouldn't be too bad since it is all flat panes of glass.

Thank you. That will be easier than the Revell 1/43 Ford GT didn't didn't come with any heads or valve covers. You gotta wonder what these people are thinking...obviously they aren't!

Hey B.J.

I like your avatar . Were you an engineer on a R.R. ? Now , as to your comment .They have to know how , in order to think . Many folks sadly don't get trained that way anymore .  T.B.

The trailer and cab of that kit are extremely old - early fifties vintage. At that time clear plastic parts were a high-tech rarity. Revell had a rather large line of 1/48 and 1/25 cars and trucks, none of which came with windows or windshields.

Seems strange nowadays, but I guess people in those early days of the hobby didn't notice - or care about - such things.

Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.

Still, it seems like someone would say "we need to at least make a windshield for this truck". As for the mentioned GT40, that was just plain stupid!

Different time & place. Models were still heavily skewed to the 'toy' side as opposed to the serious scale model side of things through the end of the 60s. Renwal made some of the most detailed armor kits of the era. But even the Teracruzer/Mace kit did not come with any clear windows.

If you need some clear plastic, I have some laying around along with white in various thickneses.

Thank you for the offer, but, I have some.
I found this little gizmo to help handle windows and such:
