Great seeing you building again my friend. I'm working on 3 right now myself. I have the other Panther F smartkit and it's supposed to have the steel wheels, but I think it gives you the ones with tires as well. Look forward to more. Can't have enough Panthers.

Hey Eric, yep back in the groove. Curiously, the Cyber hobby kit was a mish mash of Panther G sprues and add ons for the F parts. I got two sprues with 6 steel wheels, only two were outers....? I now have a surplus of Panther G extras for the spares box.

Curiously, a G chin mantlet, and G cupola (with clear vision blocks) both G hatches, exhaust etc. - go figure?

Sounds interesting. Of course, as a what if, you can do it how you like.

Did the night sight come iwth the kit. I hav ethe Dragon one and i don't think it comes with that.

Hey Bish

No, the FG1250 did not come in the kit. I had a clear sprue  the spares stash, with just the FG1250 parts n it - no idea where I got it from...LOL

I've got the same kit, and ye, it does have both sets of wheels. Also has a one piece plastic and metal barrel.

I really want to build this kit so I'll be watching and picking up some tips from you. It's looking great and enjoy.

I'm looking forward to seeing what scheme you deside on. Looks impressive. Does this F have the L/100 barrell or the L/70?

It's the L/70, and since it was released by Cyber Hobby, it came with a metal barrel...woo-hoo!

Nice looking buld, what do you have in mnd for the rest of the scheme.

Hey Bish

I think I will leave it in dunkelgelb, but, probably Olive green for the gun tube. I'm still mulling some camo schemes, such as a partial hard edge, but as a last minute production tank, a full paint work up seems unlikely. I think an appropriately weathered mono color will have a nice effect.

Personally I don't know what else you could do to it. I'll take it right now. The figure even LOOKS German.

The Cyber-Hobby Panther F release which I dug out of my stash. Still building, but I have the base coat and most of assembly done.

Going to ADD anti-shrapnel armor (turret roof and rear deck). I decided to scratch build these panels, and a scratch built FG 1250 stowage box.

Also added the FG 1250 IR set up. My idea is to represent a Panther in late war urban combat ( Berlin). I know that no PAnther F's were released to combat due to shortages, but a little fantasy going on here;

More to come of course as I progress. I am excited at the prospects for weathering and, as you can see, I am toying with the Waffen SS TC figure in the final presentation.

The cyber hobby kit provided a Panther G hull, but no steel wheels. I used the "F" hull and sub components to represent a "production" tank. Most of you older members know me and my Panther fixation, and this is the last variant that I haven't built.

I will shoot more WIP photos as I go through the finishing process in the coming weeks.

Peace out!
