Hey thanks Sprue One! You and Real G should give 'em a try- the FineMolds kits aren't the most detailed but they're still pretty good and fit well. The older Tamiya ones if you blank off the open sponsons and cover the battery and motor holes are still pretty darn good kits.

The paint and weathering looks fine. This makes me want to finally start that old Tamiya Japanese SPG in the stash.

Nice work. If it wasn't for the stand I swear it looks real against the outdoor horizon.

That weathering looks good to me.

I love it.  It's not a common subject and it's good to see something which is less than typical.  The streaking is there, and there is a lot of it.  However, it doesn't hit you in the face.  I don't think it's overdone.  I like the model.  I like the scene.  And, I like your back yard.  I'm a little jealous.

Nice to see something unique Cliff. Love both of your builds. Good thing our Sherman's didn't have to run into any of these.

Very nice Gamera!  Lovely paint job and weathering.  It's kind of shaming me into pulling out my short barrel Type 3.

Finished this about a month or so ago but couldn't seem to get decent photos. Well, I took her outside this evening and shot these. I thought they turned out better than the others I'd done so I'm going to post these:

A little background information: the Type 3 was a late war attempt by the Japanese Imperial Army to create a more advanced tank by merging the turret of the expermental Type 4 complete with 75mm gun to the hull of the dependable Type 97. Therefore you ended up with a reliable tank with a decent gun but still with very weak armour. The Japanese turned out somewhere between 250-300 of these for the Allied invasion of the Japanese home islands. They were all held in reserve and never left Japan, so none saw combat- all going straight from the factory to the tank depots and then to the scrap yard. This kit features a longer upgunned 75mm than the version that was actually produced so it's actually a paper panzer version of the real thing.

Apparently one popped up on Girls und Panzer:

A few in-progress shots:

A few odds and ends:

Not totally happy with the streaking, I think it ended up overdone and wish I hadn't used as much but not really crazy about repainting the whole darn thing.

Forgive me, I don't know much about thatched roofs, I looked up some sites on the internet but still don't think I did that good a job on it. Hopefully it doesn't distract from the tank too much.

I wanted some propaganda posters but couldn't find much in Japanese. So I decided to paint the kanji for 'RESIST' on the wall there in big red letters. I think it gets the point across Wink

Anyway just for kicks two photos of her with the Type 5 Chi-Ri I'm working on now:
