Hobby Lobby 1/2 off SALE!
Posted by MartianGundamModeler on Thursday, March 18, 2004 10:24 AM
I went into the local Hobby Lobby today and they are having their "in-store" 1/2 off plastic model sale as opposed the internet coupon sale this week. Week is almost over and i had no idea! I gotta go back an get me a Challenger 2! i also want a Lee/Grant but it can wait! Anyway whenever the store here in my state has a sale so does the one across the line so I'm betting you guys have a sale in your local HLs too if you have one! I'm just getting the word out. As far as i'm concerned it's Christmas through Saturday ! [Sat. is the last day of the sale... So many kits, so little time...Disapprove [V]]

I allready hit mine first thing Mon. morning. Did find out while I was there that they are phasing out the armor section. Was getting kind of worried when the choices of what I had not built were getting slim. Guess I'll be going somewhere else to buy my other goodies now too since they no longer want to sell what I want to build.

[:0] "phasing out the armor section!" Heck HL is the only place i can realisticly afford to shop. There are only two other stores in town really. One of them being Hobby Town USA and they are overpriced on most but they are getting a little better...Disapprove [V]

I wish there was ANYTHING near here. Couple of local RC shops, very limited plastic, and even more limited Testor's paints. No Tamiya, Gunze, etc. Great Models being 45 miles away was worth the trip, but now that they've closed their retail store, it's no big help. I can call in an order and go to their "will call" desk, but they only do that from 9 to 5, M-F and I work 8-5 M-F, so no help again. (And their mail order from 45 miles away takes longer then Mission Models does from California, and costs more!)

Whaaa, Whaaa, Whaaa!!

Dude at 50% off, you WON'T be disappointed. I only wish they had more accessories like the Tamiya Modern Accessories kit. I'm going to pick me up a HC/Trump Challenger. I also want the Polar Lights batmobile. they were out of the PL Star Ship Enterprise. My wallet is tight this week. This was my bill paying week.Disapprove [V] I saw the new Trump Challenger ar Hobby Town for $25 with all the extra goodies! I gotta get that one too. it was odd that Hobby Town USA didn't have the Tamiya accessory set! it wasn't even in their Tamiya catalog [2003]! Neither were either of the tamiya hummers, the new abrams w/t stowage, or the other "Gulf War" tamiya kits. The store guy knew nothing about it of course even though tey had the tow hummer and the abrams on the shelf!

If you were to stack up with kits it would be worth the drive. Not sure if all you get is a couple of kits though.
