Dragon 6820
Posted by Tanker45 on Saturday, September 10, 2016 7:22 AM

Hello,

I came across a dragon early tiger 1, kit 6820 as a gift.  Reading some decent reviews but wanted to hear some opinions on it.  Won't get to it for a little bit though.

Thanks,

Matt

It's a very nice DragonTiger build, refer to Bryden's Tiger site for some build hints. But I highly recommend it.

Thanks Tojo!  Is there a link for that site?

Also, would you recommend any crew sets for the tiger?  I usually don't do the figures, but wanted to give them a try.

That's the site Tiger1.info but for some reason its not opening today.

For figures I would recommend Alpine if you build it as a DAK Tiger try #35006 I used him in my Tunisian Tiger, pricey but nice.Dragon makes nice sets too.

What you can do is an eBay search for 1/35 Tiger Crew in Toys and Hobbies,it  will return lots of options.Even if you don't use ebay, you learn what's out there and you can order from the vendor of your choice.

Thanks Tojo!  I will certainly give that a look.  I use ebay often enough.  I found a few crew figures from some other Tamiya kits that I did not use, so I may end up starting with them and test my figure skills out (if any).  Would you happen to know a guide on painting German uniforms?

Tigers were in Africa but they were not assigned to the Afrikakorps. I don't know, but that might affect the choice of uniform. Photos of s.Pz.Abt.504 crew in Tunisia are rare unfortunately.
