yes Steve you are right,I had it in my spares box,it's string from a Tamiya kit,supoosed to be tow cable,it does look worse in the picture.

NIcely done Firely. I too like the addition of the figures. Someday I need to sit done and try a set.

Great work on the Sherman and the infantry.  
I do like the stowage.  Yeah, maybe the rope is a little thick, but everything else looks great.  Painting and weathering stowage is often given minimal consideration, but yours is done very well.  I like the troops, they look natural on the Sherman.
