I've never been one to care about interiors as they often can't be seen. Kind of a waste unless you have open hatches and even then you can't see much. MHO

Meng is due out with one.You can buy the basic kit,or you can buy the interior and the workable tracks separately, but that is a picture of the new Takom kit.

Eric, i get your point, especially for peoplewho build shelf sitters. But for dio's in pareticular, haveing something inside can be handy. It gets annoying haveing to find figures for hatches or havethe hatches closed all the time. Even kits which come with a littleinside, its not really enough, sousually its a case ofallor nothing or buy a resin set.

But these kits i think will deserve more than just an open hatch. Either as DM said, blown apart, or in my case, maybe a turret lift. But, saying that, they are priced around the same as a Draon kit, so if the detail is nice enough, iwouldconsider one of these just to have the hatches open and maybe the engine deck. It would be worth it rather than a cheaper kit with a resin set.

They have relsead 4 of these kits, 2 with each turret. It would have made more sense to me to do kit both with and without the insides to appeal to those who don't want to pay for all that extra they won't see.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

It should be interesting to see how this stacks up to the "MENG" kit.

Didn't realise it came with clear parts. That will interest some. Its not to my taste but i know its popular with aircraft kits.

I like the clear parts for headlights. The clear periscopes I'm not sure really make any difference, or at least they don't seem to be that noticeable to me as opposed to simple painted ones.

I'm looking to purchase both Takom turrett versions mainly becasue they do have an interior. It would be really nice to configure the model to allow the top of the tank to open to expose the interior.

And for a slight tangent:

Tojo,

Let me know your thoughts on that Tamiya F-14.

Now I am thinking with the complete interior you can do something cool like this Royal Tiger that got whacked in the side of the turret by an ISU-152...

Can't see it in the photo but the website claims the 152mm shell ripped clean though the turret and out the other side. Can see why the Soviets called the ISU-152  "Zveroboy" (beast-killer)- assuming you could hit anything with the massive, low-velocity shell.

I've pre ordered the white box version you see in the first post. Specifically because of the interior.  I'm planning on doing a cut-away version although it will take some planning. I think some others that already have this kit are doing that so I may wait to see how they do it.

In general I don't need another King Tiger, but I love interiors.  The first tank I ever built in 1977 was Tamiya's 1/25th Centurion with interior.  Then their Tiger 1 with interior.

But those are very old toolings. This Takom tooling looks superb.

Mig has paint sets for these Takom offerings, but they are astronomically priced, if I read it correctly.

I would rather see a stug/panzer III or panther with an interior.

Please post on the Tomcat when you start working on it. It's supossed to be a delight to work with. I have a stack of Hasegawas and Monograms and even a HB in the stash.

As far as the King Tiger interior, it can be built as a display piece with skin sections removed to show the seldom seen workings of armor. I did the old Tamiya 1/35 HMC a while back and added a resin interior. I left off the front armor plate so that the driver and front area could be visible. When possible, I try to open up panels to show something different.

I saw that listed in the last Squadron catalog, and thought it would be a nice add to my stash.  Since there was something else I wanted, I went online to do some shopping.  Unfortunately, that particular kit is NOT on their online catalog yet!  I was bummed.
