Any un armored Challenger 2's used in Iraq?

I want to pick up the HC/Trump Challenger 2 today because it is the last day for Hobby lobby's sale. This kit however does not come with the uparmor package currently in use in Iraq which i have heard makes this vehicle incorrect for the Operation Telic decals included. Are ther or were there any Challenger 2's in action over there without the armor? [I know some Challenger 1's were in the first gulf war but that's a diff tank. ] Anyway this kit will only be $12 bucks with the discount and befoer anyone says it I am NOT going to get an after market resine kit for it. For that caost I can just buy the new Trump Operation Telic for around $25 or $30 which comes with the armor package. Comments?

I'm unfamiliar with the armor package you're talking about, but would it be possible to scratch build it from sheet styrene? If so that'd be a less expensive route.

Well i don't mind buying by the new kit with the armor, it's just that i can't beat the deal on this unarmored one and I prefer the desert scheme to the green. But I'd hate to build a desert one and it be totally wrong...

I did not see any without new armor packege when I was over there. I don't think there were any without it.
Here is a photo of what is added to the Op Telic kit:

Here is a review of the net Chally 2s from Trumpeter and gives great details and pictures of the Op Telic model. http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/trumpeter/tr00323-45.htm

Hope these help.
