Tamiya Desert 223
Posted by SpursN17 on Monday, October 17, 2016 5:48 PM

Hello all, here's my Tamiya Afrika Korp 223. More or less out of the box and painted with Vallejo Paints, apart from Lifecolor rust set for the exhausts. It was finished by filtering with oils, and ground up pastel chalks for the dust. I made a few mistakes with this but I'm generally happy with it. Hope you like it.

Looks good. I like the subtle paint chipping. Looks used, but not abused.

Very nice work.  She looks like she seen a lot of miles thru the desert.  Are you going to use it in a diorama?

Yes, the weathering is outstanding.  The chipping is very convincing.

Great work! I have started getting into armour myself and have bought a bunch of armour kits...this being one of them. Very inspiring! Thanks for sharing. Awesome weathering! Eagle90

I just got out one of my Shermans to work on. I might have to put it back and do a 223 now. You have inspired me. I like your build.

Thanks!

Funnily enough I'm building a Sherman Firefly at the moment.
