Great Photos of Tiger I's and II's
Posted by cariboukid on Sunday, October 30, 2016 9:56 PM

Argunner is an all round excellent website and while crusing around there this evening I came across this page with some really excellent photos of these tanks. Some photos show crews putting on some fresh camo.

Thought I'd share, hope you all enjoy. If you've seen them already then you can enjoy them again Smile

Nice.  Wow, that Tiger at the 'test facility' with the banana-peeled main gun barrel.  I bet that woke the crew up!!

That photo was dated postwar in June. IIRC, the Germans put together an ad hoc force using school vehicles to defend the area that gave the advancing US armor a bloody nose. More than likely these are vehicles from that Kampfgruppe and the barrel was spiked to prevent re use after the vehicle was immbolized and could no longer  fight effectively. As was often the case, Tigers broke down automotively or ran out of fuel, rather than succumbing to battle damage.
