Posted by Fabio Moretti on Monday, March 22, 2004 11:04 AM
Dear friends, I´ve been building a Centurion Mark III Diorama, with Tamiya Kit

and the instructions don´t have the unit of the kit

The decal sheet is this

I discovered that this tank it belongs to British Guards Armoured Division....but, only this..
The other mark is the square red and yellow with the number 41....
If somebody knows the complete identification of this vehicle, please help me...
Thanks...

hi there Fabio, the black square/white ring is the 29th infantry brigade, red/yellow is the Royal Armoured Corps flash, the blue shield looks like
the 1st british commonweath divisions marking. The unit poss. be the
8th Kings Irish Hussars. Has during the Korean war. Hope this helps.

G'day Fabio,

The Centurion III that you show the box art of is the 2 reissue of the Tamiya Kit, the markings in this are for an A or C Sqn 8th King's Royal Irish Hussars, Korea '51, C Sqn 5th Royal Dragoon Guards, Korea '52 and a C Sqn 1st Royal Tank Regiment Korea '53.

The markings of that particular Centurion was from the Original Box released in 1971. As I have these particular decals for this particular Centurion Mk III, as per my photo I converted mine to the Aussie Mk V as used by our Forces in Vietnam.

If you send an email to me at scalemag@telpacific.com.au
To arrange getting these too you, with a copy of the marking sheet.

Rob.
