Websites for Research on a Willys Jeep

I received some feedback from Heavy Arty on another thread I posted on building the Tamiya Willys Jeep, that the engine on the Ford built jeeps were painted grey.
This caused me to think about how he knew that. Are there any web pages or web based reference materials that would help with research on buidling this Jeep?
