Help with CW ETO uniforms.

I had a question for any of you uniform grogs out there. I am curious as to the color of UK armor crews "pixie" suits and the other work fatigues as they would be seen in the field in June 1944. My impression is that these uniforms, would be "khaki drab"ish, like a greenish shade of tan, but not as green as US OD. Similarly, standard infantry kit would be the same color, but helmets would have been of a more green shade? I'm pretty clueless, so any references, or personal knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

I'm building Dragon's new Sherman Vc Firefly in a little Normany vignette, and borrowing a couple figs from the Tamiya Churchill crew. The kit painting instructions don't match what I thought I knew so I figured I'd ask you folks!
