Track link jig
Posted by Kentucky Colonel on Friday, May 5, 2017 8:23 AM

I thought about posting this on the Tools forum but since this is for tracks only I thought it would be better here.

Recently I was looking on Ebay for deals on Friulmodel and other metal track brands and I came across this Track Link Jig. A modeler like ourselves made it and sells them on Ebay for about $30. I bought one. It's adjustable to any track we have. I tried it out on 3 different Friuls and a couple magic tracks, it worked on all of them. It made it easier and much, much faster than my old way. I used to have to make a different jig for each different track, no more. Simply place one single link in the jig and adjust it then lock it in place and off you go just placing in the links, rods, glue and slid them down the rails as the links grow. Different size track??  No problem. Just unscrew one screw and adjust the jig to one link and lock it in.

Sure made my life a lot easier. Wish I had thought of it.
