Great advice guys. Decisions, decisions....

GameraYeah, the only thing I've used it with is acrylic paint, I'm not sure it would work with enamels. I usually coat it with MM acrylic clear gloss instead of Future like DM but it should give the same results.

Personally I wouldn't use enamels for the whitewash as they are tougher to get off. Acrylic is the way to go here although I have used *oil paints for this effect (*not with the hairspray method).
An enamel basecoat would be much more resistant to any unintended removal.
But then again, (except for rattlecans) I don't ever use enamels anymore.

tigerman Gamera Eric: If you should go with the hairspray methiod of whitewash it's easy as pie. And really easy to just wash the whole thing off or add more with spot spraying on more white. I prefer acrylics, so would that work ok on the hairspray?

Looks great Eric-looking forward to seeing where you go from here.

Never tried the hairspray method. I've seen really good results. I stillthink I want it green though.
Hey, a whitewash over that paint would be verry interesting! Whatever you choose to do with the paint job I'm sure the results will be great!

That crossed my mind. I've never done one. Might be fun.
Frankenpanzer Smooth looking paint there sir. That's a new 4B0 combo for me, Khaki Drab and Olive Green. I ust might have to try that.

Thanks for looking. I'm just afraid it will be a bit dark to weather. It does look the part though.
Well, it has been a while since we've seen you put a new one up here ~ and a classic good choice at that.
I been away from the forum a week or so and it's good to come back and see you posting a build.

Moses tigerman Moses You got a lot of nerve building a T-34! I'm MIA from the forums and I come back to this! ;) How you been Rob? It's been like forever since I've seen you on the boards. Yes, i needed a change of pace. I do have two german builds in-progress. I have been building a lot lately. I just never get around to posting on the forums as much. Are you on Facebook. I belong to a bunch of Facebook modeling groups. I was also sick 2 years ago. I was diagnosed with colon cancer, thankfully it was caught early and doing really well since. I'm going to try and post some work I've done and also lurk on the forums more often.

I'm sorry about the canceer Rob, but I'm glad you're doing better. As for Facebook, yes, and I'm in a group but am more of a looker.
Gamera Eric: It's great to see you back with a new project! And nice work!

Thanks friend. I really want to get this done.
tigerman Bish Good to see you back building Eric, nice job on that one. The armour GB's have not quite been the same the last few years. Thanks! I've been building far more then painting. I've gotten my workbench light installed and decided this beautiful weekend was the perfect time to paint. Wish I could get into some GB's, but I just don't have the time. I cleaned the tracks, so that's my next step.

Well theres not lilkely to be any armour specific GB's for a while, i tried a couiple of times and they died a bit of a death. I'd just enjoy building when you can.

Thanks Ernest. I too miss the GB's. They were very active and I thank you and all that participated.
Looks good Tigerman, I'm kinda at the same spot with my Smerch and Scud, all I want is paint to show progress but I keep finding parts to add or PE, soon very soon. Glad your making progress.
we're modelers it's what we do
Thanks. It felt really good to finally paint something! I've got four builds under construction, but this is my furthest along. I'm working on a Pz III, Tiger I, and a Zero. I really want to get this bugger on the shelf with my finished builds. It won't be overnight due to my schedule.
Very nice work, it looks really smooth.
