Anybody else do good at a Hobby Town show?
Posted by lizardqing on Saturday, March 27, 2004 7:11 PM
Twas a great day for mine and the wifes modeling self esteems. Brought home 4 first places, 1 second and 2 thirds between the 2 of us. Pretty good feeling going around here. Also got to score a whole new pile of kits includeing the Dragon Morsel gun,M60 for her and a Academy M113 and lots of accersories and spent $11. Was cool geting to meet another member from here as well. Tim ( monsterarmor) also did very well.
So anybody else have a great day too now that I'm done beating my drum? Big Smile [:D]

I entered my models at the hobbytown contest today too. Got best Junior overall, and two first place ribbons. My best junior's getting sent up to the nationals like the last one that won the nationals last time. Whooped the Junior Division as always!!!Evil [}:)] It was fun.

Congrats Chris and wife. There was bad weather where I live and the turn out was not that great at my local area Hobby town. I did not enter a model. I will in the October contest. I did buy 120.00 worth of models. They had 25% off on all models.

Hey guys,

Was this the show outside Philadelphia? I couldn't make it since I had to work. Did they have any companies that make cast resin parts? I may have to find such a company.

I entered one diorama. I took best diorama and Best of Show. And I won a cordless dremel tool as the door prize! Not a bad day's work. I shuffled off with about $170 worth of booty. WooHoo!

I will post some photos soon. Digital photos were taken at a show last week, but the guy who took them hase not posted them yet. I don't have a digital camera, as I am still in the stone-age, er..film age and have not photographed the model yet.

Congrats!
I had to work and was told that they wouldn't keep models overnight. Sad [:(]

Despite the fact that I did very well at our local show, I'm a little disappointed that my local Hobbytown doesn't participate in the national event, so that even with my best of show, I don't get to compete.
