Academy M4 Sherman Dozer Tank

The kit supplies the wider M1A1 dozer -- which is correct for an HVSS vehicle.  Off the top of my head, I don't recall any WW2 era scenes of HVSS vehicles mounting an M1A1 dozer.  Plenty of use of the narrower M1 Dozer abound during WW2 however.  Problem is the Academy item would require some modification to backdate it to M1

 

After looking at the kit and not finding any WWII pictures it looks like I have a late war M4 HVSS.  Looks like the dozer blade is going on one of my earlier Shermans.  Photos on line show Korean war too.

Sherman manufacture ceased after VJ day -- thus all Shermans, in that sense are WW2 era. That being said, what you have is the M4A3 (105) with HVSS -- which was manufactured in 1945. The M1A1 blade was also of that time period. It's theoretically possible that this combo occurred during WW2. However, I've never seen a photo of this combo during WW2. Academy only gives you Korean war era decals. Many photos exist of the combination during that conflict
