Replacement barrel
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, March 28, 2004 6:27 AM
Hey guys just got a replacement barrel for my m4a3. It is cool made out of aluminum. Question i have is what is the best way to paint this baby do i need to sand it or go with a primer? Should i go with enamels or arcylics? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also plan on picking up a new computer soon with a scanner so i can scan some photos for you guys hopefully that will be in a week or so.

I allways sand an alminum barrel before painting it to give it a uniform surface. I then prime it with metal primer as I do with all metal parts like PE or white metal. After this you can do as you like, enamels or acrylics doesn't matter. Good luck, looking forward to seeing some of your pics. Cool [8D]

I just glue it on like it was a another part and paint it the same way that I do the rest of the kit.
No special treatment at all.

The only time I will sand it is if there is an obvious flaw on it.
