Yup, Mr. Carrico - that's the man. He really did his homework right - he has a great book on Vietnam riverine craft, it used to be available as Print on Demand. He also used to offer this CD, packed with scans of original blueprints that the Tango boats were built from. Get those and you could have 90% of you research checked off. All the questions you had on tango boats, but were afraid to ask! Hope it helps, good luck with your build and have a nice day

What you have was actually called an ATC(H) (Armoured Troop Carrier, Helicopter). Tango was a callsign for the Riverine Task Force as their hull numbers started with a "T"; i.e.: T-151-6.  I too have this kit and plan to build it...one day.  It is a lot of heavy resin.  From what I have heard, It isn't too difficult though.

This kit comes from a company called Masterpiece Models it is a totally resin kit it weighs in at a whopping 12lbs the hull is a solid one piece I am building the helo version in this month's issue is an article about the same kit the kit has I believe 36 armor bar panels that have to be built separately in the article it mentioned a jig to build the panels but no particular description I would like to get ahold of the author and exchange info

I think I know what kit you are talking about, but I didn't build it - I was planning to convert an LCM-3 to an LCM-6 and this to a tango... weird, eh? Some 10 years ago there was a fella on the net selling a CD with blueprints that were used for a LCM-6 -> Tango conversion. I have got this CD back then.

How does the bar armor look like in your kit? Some photos would be cool.

Do you buil a straight Tango boat, or one with a helo pad?
