What colour for tyres on desert vehicles?

You've already gotten some sound advice on the color, just heavily weather the tires with tan or sand because it sticks to rubber. The Italeri Desert Patrol Hummer represents one of the initial vehicle prototypes that wasn't put into service.

Its all in the weathering. I use tamiya NATO black for tires, you can use washes or pigments to get the sandy look.

Paint the rubber part flat black, then weather with a desert sand color to tone them down and blend them in.
