Second Armor...just in time!!
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, March 29, 2004 4:11 PM
Hello Everyone!!
I promised I would post more pics...so here we go.
A little history...
The link below is to pics of my Chally I Mk3 from Tamiya. I added Eduard set and parts of the Accurate Armour fuel drum set... I scratch built the fuel drum mounting system to show the model without fuel drums. This model is about 98% complete. I still plan on another round of weathering, dry brush and adding ground cover to my base. My fiancé has made me stop since the wedding is only a few weeks away Disapprove [V]!!!! I'm getting this one and my Merkava ready for contest (which will be my first by the way) so if anyone has some thoughts on improvements or areas that may need some attention please let me know.

Hope you enjoy!!

Cool stuff man!
Why's he holding his head, did he just crush his Commander?
Good Luck on the upcoming event...you'll survive.

Good stuff. Looks like you really took your time with the wash and drybrush there.
Only thing I would suggest is weathering that chain, it looks awful shiny for such a weathered tank Smile [:)]

GL at the contest.

Nice looking build Justin !!!

I do agree with Zokissima about the chain though .... not often you see them in brass. A little paint and weathering will tone that done quite a bit.

Thanks for sharing with us.
Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

The pics are great. Great looking build, it looks very clean. I would suggest a flat coat, but since you are not done weathering, i suspect you may already know this. good looking stuff, and keep us updated with plenty of pics!!

Thanks for the complements everyone!

I agree about the chain...that was a last minute addition. I will catch it on the final weathering. I also need to touch a couple of places with some color...lights mainly.
Thanks again!

Actually the chain might just very well be correct. The newer chains have a treatment that gives it this color. I'm not sure what the alloy is but chains coated in it stay a shiny gold/bronze color. We have chains here at the shipyard that get a lot of hard use that stay in this condition with little signs of wear.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help.
