I have never come across that colour being used on German armoured vehicles. Maybe it was the colour used on German Police vehicles, i believe called Polizegrun, but certainly not on those used in the field by the SS.

This thread on another site might be useful.

Panel lighting may refer to modulation wqhich is a method used by those who want to produce an artistic effect of lightning the centre of panels and leaving the edges of the panels darker.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

German SS Police Vehicle Paint Question
Posted by milwaukeejohn on Monday, February 26, 2018 11:16 PM

I came across a nice looking Hataka paint set that I’d like to find a model to use on.  The set is early German WW2 AFV Panel Lighting.  It looks like it is mainly meant to use on pre-war/WWII German/SS Polizei vehicles.

I am certainly familiar with the dark gray versions of German police armored cars, but what vehicles were painted the great looking greenish-blues like the vehicle on the paint set box?  A short search online didn’t get me anything useful.

Also (I am just getting back into modeling), what does ”panel lighting” mean?

Here is the set I am referring to (sorry if only the link appears...I have been having problems posting photos to the forum):
