Looks good, nice work! I've always liked AFV Club kits.

As to the front wheels somehow the idea of the driver popping a wheelie makes me grin.

Not as far fetched as you might think. You should see 30 ton or armour with its back end up in the air.

Clint, i think it is more of a Dragon issue. I didn't have the problem with my AFV club Ausf D, but wasn't sure about the C. From what Johan has said, that ok as well.

Looking good so far not sure about the afv but with the dragon kits you'll want to make sure you dry fit the road wheels and add a length of track under them to make sure everything sits right and your front wheels don't float.

I have already fitted mine but i don't worry about it to much. As i put it on a base, i can always raise the terrain a touch so it meets the wheels if they float.

Thx Bish,

You might want to dryfit subassembly 4H in place until sure.

There is some vertical flex in there and if careful some diagonal as well.

The diagonal was a tip by Mr. Bill.

Hi again,

some primer on the lower hull.
This is Vallejo 73.604 Ral 7028 Surface Primer.

This colour is considerably more grenish then for instance the Tamiya XF-60 in the background.

Finishing layer is going to be 71.025, also RAL 7028 from Vallejo (AIR) and allthough this will take the green down a bit there is still a green hue to this depiction of RAL 7028.

Might post this in the Tunisian thread ;)

Anyway, thank you for taking interest.
I guess I was lucky - dry fitted the running gear and it looks as if the stearing wheels have a touchdown!

Looking forward to this one. have you tested the front wheels. A lot of 251 kits have an issue that once the tracks are fitted, the front wheels are lifted off the ground.

These were first issued in 1942 and so were painted in Pz Grey. By the time they got to Scicily in 43 they had Dark Yellow with green wavy lines on the outside.

Hello,

So I have this kit in the stash since 2009 or so, bought it while I was stationed in Kaohsiung to have something to kill time with on the Hotel but the AFV Tiger caught most of my atention.
The AFV Tiger btw. came out sort of at the same time as Dragons 6253 and has bee sadly overlooked.

It is an interesting design, it is an adoption to an Anti Aircraft role and the few vehiclesthat where ever built where assigned to the Luftwaffe.

And I think I lost the gun in the move so this had to be replaced.
The AFV Club kit originally had the Tristar FlaK as well.

Started the kit again inspired by Mr. Bish :)

Instructions start with lower hull and the road wheels.

The rear pin for the idler wheel mount needs to be snipped off for parts B3 & B4 to fit.

The 2 sides of the drive wheel needs little bit of help to go together.

And this is where I am at now...

Started the gun assembly as well, that little rod you see sticking up is sandwitched between and supposed to be movable. I have broken i twice already...

I guess I will be trying to get some paint on to the fighting compartment next, but I have absoluely no clue if that should be white, off white, Panzer Grau or Dunkelgelb.

Any comments or suggestion are more then wellcome :)
